TWS Performance Platform

Coach guide

Everything you need to set up and run your coaching, step by step. Watch the walkthrough first, then use the sections below when you need them.

Walkthrough video

About five minutes: first sign-in, business settings, a client, paperwork there and back, a programme, the client's training link, Inbox and an invoice.

This guide covers everything a coach needs to run their clients on the TWS Performance Platform, from first sign-in to sending invoices. Every step uses the exact names of the buttons on screen. If you get stuck at any point, tap Help at the bottom right of any screen, ask in your own words, and the assistant will walk you through it. If something is broken, tap Send this to support in the Help panel. Support gets your message, the screen you were on and your app version, and replies by email.

Stuck? In the app, tap Help (bottom right) and ask in your own words. It knows this guide and the screen you are on. If something is broken, tap Send this to support.

Getting in

  1. Open the invite email from TWS Performance Platform and tap Choose a password and open.
  2. Choose a password (at least 8 characters), type it twice and tap Save password and open. You are now signed in and land on Home.
  3. Next time, go to movement.twsfitness.com, enter your email and password and tap Sign in.
  4. Forgotten your password? On the sign-in screen tap Forgot your password?, enter your email and tap Email me a reset link. The email arrives within a minute or two (check spam). Tap Choose a new password in it and pick a new one.
  5. If the invite button has stopped working (links work once), use Forgot your password? with the same email. It does the same job.

Install it like an app: on iPhone or iPad, open the site in Safari, tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen. On Android, open it in Chrome and tap Install app. On a laptop, Chrome or Edge shows an install icon in the address bar.

Lock (top right) hides the app on a shared screen. Your data stays on the device and comes back when you sign in again. If a different coach signs in on the same device, the app clears the previous coach's clients off the device first, so nobody ever sees someone else's clients.

The Get set up checklist

Your Home screen shows a Get set up checklist until the essentials are done. Each step ticks itself when it is really done, so you can trust it. Tap Do this to go straight to the right screen, or How? to jump to the matching part of this guide. Hide tucks it away; bring it back from the menu (three lines, top right) with Setup checklist.

Business settings

Open the menu (three lines, top right) and tap Business settings. Fill these in before you send anything to a client, because they print on every invoice, report and email:

  • Business details: your business name, address, email and phone. The business name is what your clients see on emails, paperwork and their training page.
  • How clients pay you: give the account a name (for example Business account) and type the payee name, sort code, account number and the reference you want them to use. Add another account if you use more than one. You can add a reusable payment link (Stripe, SumUp, PayPal, Monzo) to an account and it prints as a Pay this invoice button.
  • Invoice numbering and VAT: set your prefix (for example INV-) and whether you are VAT registered.
  • Coaching qualifications: your qualifications and memberships. They print on the pack you can give a school.
  • Your branding (optional): upload your logo and pick an accent colour, then tap Save branding. Your logo and colour replace the default on the header, reports and invoices. Leave the logo empty and the app uses your business name.
  • Notifications: choose which client alerts reach your phone.

Tap Save settings at the bottom of the business details section when you have filled it in. Branding has its own Save branding button.

Adding a client

  1. Tap + New client on Home (or Clients, then + New client).
  2. On Client info, pick the Client type (PT client, Youth athlete, School athlete, Elite). It sets sensible defaults for paperwork, check-ins and reports.
  3. Fill in Client details: name, date of birth, sex, email and phone. For an under-18, use the parent's email. Date of birth and sex let results be compared with the right age group.
  4. Add Key metrics (body weight, height) and Sports played. Add an Emergency contact.
  5. Everything saves as you type. If you created a client by mistake, tap Discard new client.

Each client has tabs across the top: Dashboard, Client info, Programme, Paperwork, Screens, Testing, Needs, Analytics, Nutrition, Files and Payments.

Paperwork: sending it and getting it back

The PAR-Q+ health questionnaire and the informed consent must be complete before a client is screened or tested.

The easiest way: the app emails it for you.

  1. Open the client and stay on their Dashboard tab. In Send or print, tap Choose what to send.
  2. Tick PAR-Q+ health questionnaire and Informed consent, and leave Ask them to sign online ticked.
  3. Check the Send to address and tap Send to client. The email comes from your business name, with a button that opens a phone-friendly form. You get a copy.
  4. The client answers the questions, ticks the consents and signs with a finger. Your business name is on the form.
  5. When it comes back, open the client's Paperwork tab. It says Came back. Tap Pull the answers onto the record. The PAR-Q+ and consent are now filled in and signed.

Prefer to send it from your own phone? On the Paperwork tab, in Send them a link instead, tap Create a link to send, then Email it to them (opens your own email app with the message written), WhatsApp, Text / share or Copy link.

If they are with you in person: open the PAR-Q+ card and the Informed consent card on the Paperwork tab and complete them together, signing on screen.

Prefer paper? Print blank pack or Download blank pack, then type the answers in when it comes back and tick Sent to the client and It came back so the record is right.

Any red flag on the PAR-Q+ (for example chest pain or a doctor's restriction) blocks screening and testing until it is cleared. The app tells you exactly what is needed.

Movement screen

  1. Tap New screen (the Build menu or the client's Screens tab).
  2. Pick the client and follow the steps. Each test shows how to run it; switch Coach Mode on in the menu to open every guide by default.
  3. Score each movement as you go. The app works out the result and the report as you finish.
  4. When you finish, open the report from the client's Screens tab. Use Send or print to email it.

Testing

Open the client and the Testing tab. Testing: pick the tests chooses the battery; Testing: results is where you type scores. Results compare against the right age and sex group when date of birth and sex are filled in.

Programmes

There are three ways to give a client a programme:

  1. From the library: open the client, tap the Programme tab, then Assign from library. Pick a programme and tap Assign. Your library starts with ready-made programmes (Foundation Strength, Hybrid Performance, Hypertrophy A and B, Youth Foundations, mobility programmes and more). The client gets their own copy, so changing it for them never changes the library version.
  2. Build one for this client: on the Programme tab tap + Build one for (their name) and set the weeks, sessions a week and exercises.
  3. AI builder: in the Programmes area use + Build, then the AI option. It reads the client's screen and test results and drafts a block for you to check and edit. Each AI build, file import or log-sheet photo counts as one AI job; pilot accounts get 30 a month. The Help assistant does not count.

Build with AI

Go to Programmes, tap Build with AI, and pick the type of build from the tabs at the top:

  • Block, Next block, Single session and Season plan for strength and performance work.
  • Mobility: choose the weeks, minutes per session, and a focus area for each day, such as Ankles & hips or Upper back, neck & shoulders. It uses the client's movement screen to decide where to put the most work. Each area is laid out as roll, dynamic, static, then a lock-in drill. You check the draft and save it as a Mobility programme.
  • Nutrition: pick a client, goal, meals a day, diet, foods to avoid, and their routine and training times. It writes a training-day and a rest-day meal plan from the client's numbers on their Nutrition tab, so set their goal, athlete type and training load there first. You get a draft you can edit, then Save to (client)'s Nutrition tab or Save to my library. On the client's Nutrition tab you can edit the plan, print it for them, or remove it. Anything medical, such as a condition, eating disorder or serious allergy, is flagged for you to refer to a GP or registered dietitian.

There is a rules box for each type of build (strength, mobility and nutrition). Write how you like things done and every build follows your rules. What the AI has learned about how you build shows the house style it has picked up from programmes and meal plans you have saved yourself: your usual layout, the exercises you pick, and your sets and reps. The more of your own work you save, including AI drafts you have edited, the closer the builds get to how you work. The ready-made starter programmes are not counted.

The Programmes page (top bar) is your library: build there, then Assign to client when it is ready. Nothing reaches a client until you assign and send it.

  1. Open the client and the Programme tab. Under their programme tap Send to (their name).
  2. Choose All blocks or Just block 1 (or tick the blocks you want). Tick Also send if you want a second link where they can log anything else (a swim, a club session).
  3. Tap Next: send it. Then pick WhatsApp, Email it, Text or another app or Copy the message. The message is written for you; check it and press send.
  4. The client opens the link on their phone. No app, no password. They see today's session, tap Start workout, tick each exercise and enter their weights and reps, then Send to coach.
  5. It lands in your Inbox (menu, then Inbox). Open it to see what they did and any note. Tap Keep it to put it on their record, Send reply to answer them, or Dismiss.

The link stays up to date: change the programme and they see the change next time they open it. Same link, nothing to re-send.

Squads

For teams and groups: Squads in the top bar, then + New squad, name it and tap Create squad. Use Edit roster to add existing clients, or + Quick add pupils to type in a list of names. Set the squad programme picks the programme everyone follows (your library is offered first); Push to squad sends changes to everyone. + Book a squad session puts it in the diary, and Take the register on the day. Each athlete still has their own record.

Diary and bookings

Diary in the top bar. Tap + Book a session for a one-to-one, or + Squad session for a group. Switch between Day, Week and Month. After a session, open it and use Register or Log training so the session counts and package balances stay right.

Calendar sync gives you a link to add your TWS diary to your phone or Outlook calendar, and lets you bring a published calendar in.

Payments, packages and invoices

Finances in the top bar.

  • + Record a payment logs money in (cash, bank transfer, card) against a client and package.
  • To invoice a payment: Invoices, then + New invoice. Pick the client, fill in Amount, What sort of sale, Package / description and Sessions included, then tap Create payment & continue to invoice.
  • Check the draft invoice. Use a package fills a line from your own packages. To get paid by card, paste your own payment link (Stripe, SumUp, PayPal, Monzo) into Payment link for this invoice. It prints as a Pay this invoice button, and your bank details print underneath.
  • Tap Save & print. It gets its number (INV-0001 onwards) and opens ready to print or save as PDF.
  • To email it: open the client, Dashboard tab, Send or print, Choose what to send, tick Invoice, then Send to client. It goes as a PDF from your business name.
  • Set up the packages you sell once (client Payments tab, Packages you sell) and they appear in Use a package from then on.

The overview shows what was paid this month, who owes, and who is due in the next two weeks.

Sending reports and documents

On a client's Dashboard tab, Send or print has Choose what to send. Pick the screen report, test results, programme, paperwork, or Everything. It all goes as one PDF in one email from your business name. Nothing goes until you press Send to client. You can also print or download instead.

Backups and devices

Your data saves on the device and syncs to your account when you are online, so it appears on your phone, iPad and laptop. Save the backup on a client's Dashboard (or in Business settings) downloads one file with everything, if you want your own copy.

If the app says New version ready, tap Update now. If something looks wrong after an update, open the menu and tap Force update.

When something goes wrong

  • A button does nothing or a screen looks wrong: open the menu and tap Force update, then try again.
  • An email did not arrive: check the spam folder, and check the client's email on Client info.
  • You are signed out or see "Sign in": enter your email and password. If you have forgotten it, tap Forgot your password?.
  • The client link says it has run out: create a new link from the same place and send it again.
  • The Inbox shows a session but no Keep it button: the programme it came from has been removed from that client. Read it and Dismiss.
  • Still stuck: tap Help, describe it, then Send this to support.
  • Support replies by email within one working day (Monday to Friday). If you can't sign in, or client data looks missing, say so at the start of your message and it's dealt with first.
  • To fix a problem, support may need to look at your account, including client records. That's only done to sort out what you reported, and nothing is changed without telling you.
